Radar Validation Test

As automotive radar sensors reach record production numbers and gain adoption for ADAS and vehicle safety applications, the sensor validation test methodology is a critical development milestone.

This session is an overview of several best practice and techniques available for radar validation test from our experience delivering such systems globally.

White Paper: Customize Radar Test for Application Needs

The combined use of scenario-based testing and RF measurements can be effectively used to verify functional performance of the radar sensors for their specific application use case environment or conditions. This white paper will discuss the changing requirements for radar test and how they can be addressed using the Konrad Technologies Vehicle Radar Test System (KT-VRTS) that is built on the National Instruments platform.

Sensor Fusion Test

Since ADAS and vehicle safety rely on more than one sensor for environment perception, verifying functional performance of ADAS modules is a challenge.

In this session, Konrad Technologies will share highlights for a proven test technique being adopted by several OEMs and Tier 1s for verifying ADAS sensor, sub-systems and systems by including relevant sensors into the test loop.

This technique is rapidly growing into an in-lab test method to complement drive test for ADAS functional verification.

White Paper: Sensor Fusion with Driver in the Loop with VI-grade

In this white paper, VI-grade and Konrad Technologies (KT) discuss how driving
simulators combined with sensor packages for ADAS/AD can be used together in a lab to robustly verify ADAS/AD functionality as a pre-step to ground truthing.

White Paper: Sensor Fusion and Driver in the Loop Test with NI and Innosimulation

Driver in the Loop (DIL) test is a proven  methodology to verify embedded software performance in automotive controllers with human input. Adding sensors to the DIL test further narrows the gap with ground truthing and the costly system update iterations that follow and enables a higher degree of reproducibility and repeatability tests to quickly optimize on feature performance for Automated Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD).

Battery Cell Monitoring

Battery Cell Monitoring System

Konrad Technologies designed and developed a Battery Cell Monitoring System for long-term monitoring of 950 battery cell voltages distributed across ten thermal chambers (incubators). The system performs one ten-second measurement on each cell daily, with a sampling rate of 1 Hz. It logs the values and compares them against defined limits, generating an alarm for each cell failure. A multiplexer switch is used to sequentially make these measurements, ensuring that there’s no electrical connection to the cells except during the actual measurement intervals. The centralized architecture allowed the solution to be delivered at a fraction of the cost of deploying a dedicated measurement system at each incubator.

Durability Testing

Reconfigurable Tester System (RECO)

RECO is full height stand that performs durability testing on UUTs. It’s a 4 up tester with a user configurable sequence that performs multiple tests with multiple variants using NI 9039 with IO modules. The system addresses the challenges of major automotive OEMs brought on by inefficient and outdated test systems for durability testing body hardware components. RECO offers the flexibility of running parallel test sequences on the real-time targets and allows the user to setup tests with a simple scripting language.

Electrical Fault Testing

Whether your team is working on a new product or testing components of existing systems, your goal is to complete your testing cycles quickly while ensuring high degree of accuracy. Traditional testing methods often require manual work, waste valuable time, and increase your time to market, making your department the bottleneck of the development process.

That’s why Konrad Technologies has partnered with WKS Informatik to bring the first fully automated electrical fault testing system to the Americas. RTStand automates test execution, data logging, and reporting by eliminating manual tasks. Any electrical component in a vehicle can be tested on one common platform.

Test Lab Management and Automation

TestValet is a modular solution that automates lab workflow, optimizes test schedules, centralizes data and reports, and tracks asset utilization. It reduces manual processes and provides valuable insights into a test lab performance to improve productivity and throughput. The software offers intuitive GUIs with different permission levels that facilitate the workflow of each test. TestValet is configurable and customizable for different workflow steps, user roles, and notifications. Various workflows can be created within one organization and tied to a specific test template.
