LEONBench

The LEONBench is a compact, and fully integrated test bench designed to streamline the testing process for ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) applications. This versatile system replaces traditional bulky tower racks with a sleek, workbench-style design, offering full pneumatic capability, enhanced safety features, and ease of use. The LEONBench is built on the ABex platform, incorporating Konrad Technologies’ analog bus extension and PXI/PXIe chassis for seamless integration into various test setups. With its flexible power input options and high signal integrity, LEONBench is optimized for high pin count, medium-to-high complexity PCBA testing, functional testing, and in-system programming (ISP).

Battery Cell Test

Konrad developed a circuit board tester for one of our clients, who later returned to us for a battery tester. This system was built upon the proof-of-concept work we had previously done for another customer, incorporating some of the same circuitry from that prototype. Both systems were designed to test LR44 and SR44 (10mm coin cell) batteries using pulsed capacity testing to qualify cells for their respective products. The objective was to simulate real-world lifetime conditions by applying load profiles that mirrored actual device usage. For both projects, we utilized NI’s multifunction DAQ cards—two 80-channel USB cards for client #1 and a 204-channel PXI card for client #2—while most of the work was executed on a custom circuit board designed by Konrad Technologies.

Camera Interfacing

KT MIPI Pod

The MIPI POD provides an FPD-LINK IV serializer and deserializer pair to transform data from MIPI CSI-2 to FPD-LINK IV and from FPD-LINK IV to MIPI CSI-2. Both the serializer and deserializer have input and output FAKRA and FFC (Flexible Flat Cable) connections. The MIPI POD can be powered externally or via PoC (Power over Coax).

Project Example: Xbox 360 Controller Production Test System

Konrad Technologies designed and built a solution that tests the trigger buttons, push buttons, and cable connections of both wired and wireless Xbox game controllers. This production test system monitors signals at the chip level to analyze the electrical signals for parameters such as rise/fall times, minimum/maximum voltage levels, and current draw. Device communication test and data packets are also monitored at the bit level to verify that all controller-functional messages are within specification. The system supports more than 100 tests, implements Ethernet communication, and incorporates a data storage interface to the Microsoft SQL Server database.
